Rainy Dog Walk in the City
Why am I out in the pouring rain in the middle of the night? I stare down at my dog sopping wet with rain, sniffing contentedly at yet another lamp post, as if it were the first lamp post he's ever seen in his life. I listen to the rain pattering on my umbrella, safe and dry inside my bubble. Cars woosh by, thunder rumbling in the distance. The rain sparkles under the lamp light. I breathe in a refreshing, deep breath. As we continue walking, I smile down at my dog. He returns my smile, tail wagging, eyes saying, "See, aren't you glad we went for a walk?"
