Thunderstorm in a Log Cabin
Picture yourself in a log cabin in the woods, you are protected on three sides by the forest your porch looks out upon the praire below you. A stream winds its way through the plane, now full and raging, swollen with the waters of the Storm. The storm is quieter now, the worst of it having passed over you some hours before. It's fullness now but a dark stain traveling towards the far horizon. It's lightning still flares, brightening the room around you intermittently, with its thunder now a distant roar and boom in the distance. The fire you lit this morning in the peak of the storm is now low and warm, mostly embers, you occasionally add another log more for the comfort of its presence than a genuine need for warmth. As you settle back in your chair the wind in the trees around you intensifies, the leaves rustle, branches creaking, you feel safe and shielded by these tall boughs. The rain now falls intermittently upon your little wooden roof and walls, occasionally deepening, sending a little quiver down your spine as the last of the storms cold leaves you.
