Hiking on a Snowy Mountain

Snow swirls gently around you on your morning hike through the mountain forest. A thin layer of winter wonderland coats everything around you, muffling your every sound. The dawn's light reflects in pastel oranges and pinks along the edges of the brilliant white, and shadows dance in mellow blues. The sounds of the wind and your own footsteps are barely able to permeate the frosted landscape. However, the town's distant church bells ride the wind, occasionally catching your ear as you hike upwards towards an isolated but cozy cabin. The kitten sleeping softly in your chest pocket can just be heard over chirping morning birds, as well as the sound of hot breath as you sip on a steaming beverage to warm you through your travel upwards. An icy cloud of warmed breath hangs from your lips, clinging to the chilled air and seeming to hover before you as you march ahead. The sky is clear and bright, the sun only just making its way above the snow-capped pines. You glance behind you, the town below nestled in a still-darkened valley, lights twinkling serenely. Another light catches your eye, the glint of the first of the morning rays striking the lake near the town in a dazzling display. The swirling snow clings to your eyelashes, your scarf, hat, even your boots and flutters away on its way to join the mass of white on the ground. The cabin appears before you a long ways up the mountain, but the walk is pleasant in the rising morning sun so you take your time, giving the kitten in your pocket a small pet and sipping your drink before walking on.
